This Jamie Oliver Air Fryer Flatbread Recipe is made with self-raising flour, natural yoghurt, cumin seeds, olive oil, and a pinch of salt. This easy air fryer flatbread recipe creates a tasty side dish that takes about 25 minutes to prepare and can serve up to 4 people.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 150g self-raising flour
  • 100g natural yoghurt
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pinch of salt

How To Make This Air Fried Flatbread:

  1. Prepare the Dough: Tip the self-raising flour into a bowl, add a pinch of salt, the yoghurt, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Use a fork to mix everything together until the dough starts to come together, then switch to your hands and knead for 1 minute.
  2. Shape the Flatbread: Stretch and pat the dough into the rough shape and size of your air fryer shelf, aiming for about 1cm thick. Sprinkle cumin seeds over the top and gently press them into the dough.
  3. Cook the Flatbread: Preheat your air fryer to 200ºC. Once preheated, place a small heatproof bowl upside down in the air fryer, place the air fryer shelf on top, and lay the flatbread on it. Cook for 10 minutes, turning halfway, until golden and puffed up.
  4. Serve: Remove from the air fryer and tear the flatbread in half. Serve warm on the side of your dish.

Recipe Tips

  • Use fresh self-raising flour: Using fresh flour ensures that your flatbreads rise well and have the perfect texture.
  • Don’t over-knead the dough: Kneading for just 1 minute helps keep the flatbread soft. Overworking the dough can make it tough.
  • Press the cumin seeds into the dough: Gently press the cumin seeds so they stick well to the surface and give the bread a great flavor.
  • Turn the flatbread halfway during cooking: This helps the flatbread cook evenly and puff up nicely.
  • Brush with olive oil for extra flavor: Lightly brushing the dough with olive oil before cooking adds a nice golden finish and enhances the taste.

How To Store & Reheat Leftovers

Place leftover flatbreads in an airtight container or wrap them tightly in foil. Store them in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Reheat flatbreads in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 180°C (350°F) until warmed through.
