Jamie Oliver Air Fryer Tinned Potatoes is made with tinned potatoes, garlic, vegetable oil, runny honey, and wholegrain mustard. This easy Air-Fried Tinned Potatoes recipe creates a tasty side dish that takes about 25 minutes to prepare and can serve up to 4 people.
Note: In the original recipe, Jamie Oliver uses Maris Piper potatoes, but we use tinned potatoes for a quicker and easier option.
Ingredients Needed:
- 1-2 cans tinned potatoes, drained and patted dry
- 1-2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Fine salt, to taste
- 1 bulb garlic
- 1-2 tablespoons runny honey
- 1-2 teaspoons wholegrain mustard
Optional Garnish: Toss with a handful of chopped parsley, a sprig of finely chopped rosemary, a handful of finely grated Parmesan, and a finely grated garlic clove for extra flavor.
How To Make Air Fryer Tinned Potatoes:
- Prepare the Garlic: Cut the top off the garlic bulb. Place it in foil, drizzle with oil, and season with salt. Fold up the foil and scrunch it around the bulb.
- Air Fry the Potatoes: Preheat the air fryer to 190°C. Place the drained and dried tinned potatoes in a mixing bowl. Toss with a drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt. Add the potatoes to the air fryer basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through, until crispy.
- Roast the Garlic: While the potatoes cook, place the foil-wrapped garlic in the air fryer next to the potatoes. Cook for 10 minutes until soft.
- Make the Garlic Honey Mustard Glaze: Carefully remove the garlic from the foil and squeeze the soft cloves into a mixing bowl. Add the honey, mustard, and a pinch of salt, and mix well.
- Toss and Serve: Once the potatoes are crispy, toss them in the garlic-honey-mustard glaze. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Recipe Tips
- Dry the Potatoes Well: Make sure the tinned potatoes are fully dried before air frying. This helps them get crispy on the outside.
- Cut Garlic Top Properly: When cutting the top of the garlic bulb, make sure enough is removed so that the cloves can be easily squeezed out after roasting.
- Shake Potatoes Midway: Shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking for even browning and crispiness.
- Don’t Overcrowd the Basket: If you’re making a larger batch, cook the potatoes in batches so they crisp up nicely and don’t steam.
- Toss in Sauce Right Away: For the best flavor, toss the potatoes in the garlic-honey-mustard glaze as soon as they come out of the air fryer while they’re still hot.
How To Store & Reheat Leftovers
Storing in the Fridge: Place the leftover potatoes in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheating: To reheat, place the potatoes back in the air fryer at 180°C for 5-7 minutes until heated through and crispy again.
